Russia: as of September 1, grain stocks totaled over 45 mln tonnes – Rosstat

As of September 1, 2016, the carry-over stocks of grains in agricultural, harvesting and processing organizations of the Russian Federation totaled 45.784 mln tonnes, an increase of 6 mln tonnes (or up 15.1%) compared with the index on the same date in 2015, declared the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) on September 19.

At the same time, the carry-over stocks of grains in agricultural organizations grew by 15.9%, or 4.344 mln tonnes, compared with September 1, 2015– to 31.615 mln tonnes. The harvesting and processing organizations increased the rate by 13.2%, or 1.657 mln tonnes - to 14.17 mln tonnes.

In particular, wheat formed the major share of the carry-over stocks in the harvesting and processing organizations — 11.337 mln tonnes, up 19.7% compared with the same period last year, including milling wheat – 7.435 mln tonnes (up 12%).

Rye stocks totaled 562 thsd tonnes, which completely met the indicator as of September 1, 2015, including milling rye - 502 thsd tonnes (up 4.9%).

At the same time, barley stocks reduced to the level of 1.707 mln tonnes (down 8.5%), corn – 301 thsd tonnes (down 5.8%), and oats - 98 thsd tonnes (down 35.6%).

Also, buckwheat stocks increased to 24 thsd tonnes (up 3.2%), millet – 15 thsd tonnes (up 31.6%), rice - 32 thsd tonnes (up 10 times).
