Ukraine harvested nearly 41 mln tonnes of grains - Ministry of Agrarian Policy

As of September 20, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 40.812 mln tonnes of grains throughout the areas of 10.392 mln ha, or 72% of the plan. The average yield totaled 3.93 t/ha, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. At the same time, on the same date last year the production volumes reached 39.3 mln tonnes.

In particular, agrarians continued harvesting corn. As of the reporting date, Ukraine harvested 2.062 mln tonnes of the grain throughout 445 thsd ha (10%). The average yield reached 4.63 t/ha.

Also, Ukraine harvested 159 thsd tonnes of buckwheat throughout 125 thsd ha (83%). The average yield totaled 1.27 t/ha. Agrarians harvested millet throughout 94 thsd ha (91%). The production volumes totaled 172 thsd tonnes, with the yield of 1.83 t/ha.

Agricultural enterprises of Ukraine harvested 5.51 mln tonnes of sunflower seed throughout 2.601 mln ha (44%), with the average yield of 2.21 t/ha.

Ukraine continued harvesting soybeans. Agrarians harvested 1.389 mln tonnes of the oilseed throughout the areas of 661 thsd ha (36%), with the average yield of 2.1 t/ha.

22 oblasts of Ukraine started the planting campaign of winter grains. As of September 20, agrarians planted winter grains throughout 1.397 mln ha (19% of the plan), as opposed to 1.69 mln ha on the same date last year.

In particular, Ukraine planted winter wheat and triticale throughout 1.319 mln ha (21%), rye - 51 thsd ha (34%), and barley - 27 thsd ha (3%). Also, Ukraine planted winter rapeseed throughout 653 thsd ha (90%).
