The harvesting campaign of grains in Kazakhstan produced 23.1 mln tonnes of crops in bunker weight, an increase of 1.4 times compared with the last year figures. The average yield totaled 1.52 t/ha, declared the First Vice-Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kairat Aituganov on October 10.

In particular, agrarians of Akmola oblast harvested 5.7 mln tonnes of grains, North Kazakhstan oblast— 5.6 mln tonnes, Kostanay oblast — 5.5 mln tonnes, and Karaganda oblast – over 1 mln tonnes. Also, Aktobe and West Kazakhstan oblasts increased the millet yield figures in 4 and 3 times, respectively.

In addition, the southern half of Kazakhstan still continues harvesting cotton seed, sugar beet and rice. In the current year, the harvest volumes of rice totaled 432 thsd tonnes. In particular, in Kyzylorda oblast the rice yield reached 4.7 t/ha, which broke a record.

According to the announcement, agrarians harvested oilseeds throughout 46.7% of the planned areas. The expected harvest of oilseeds will exceed the last year figures in 1.2 times. The average yield totaled 1 t/ha, as opposed to 0.81 t/ha during 5 recent years.
