Russia: in January-September NCSP Group reduced grain shipment for exports

During the first 9 months of 2016, the volume of grain shipment for exports by enterprises of PJSC Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port (NCSP Group) totaled 4.047 mln tonnes, a decrease of 10.1% compared with the same period last year, declared the press-service of the company on October 24.

According to the announcement, mainly external factors influenced at formation of such lag in grain shipment terms. In particular, the factors included unattractive export prices for Russian producers, effect of the export duties on wheat, which was canceled on September 23 only. Also, Russia actually stopped grain shipments to Egypt, which is the largest importer of grains from Russia, due to the requirement to zero ergot content, but the issue was completely settled in October.

Also, the shipment volumes of chemical cargoes (including mineral fertilizers) lowered by 13.4% - to 734 thsd tonnes.

The Group operates two of the largest Russian ports – Port of Novorossiysk on the Black Sea coast, and Port of Primorsk on the Baltic Sea, as well as Port of Baltiysk in Kaliningrad oblast.
