Kazakhstan took the third position in Asia by the areas of organic farming, which exceeded 300 thsd ha, declared the Deputy Director of strategic planning and analysis department at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Timur Nurashev on November 22, reffering to IFOAM figures.
According to him, the general exports of organic products from Kazakhstan totaled nearly 10 mln USD. In the agricultural sector, there were developed the following brands - Qazaq Organic Food, Halal, and Meat brand, which have strategic importance, and are focused on the specific markets. The project will give extra pulse to the exports of local food products, and form a positive image of Kazakhstan as a producer of organic natural goods, said T.Nurashev.
He informed that the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) was founded in 1972, and affiliates more than 760 organizations in 100 countries. IFOAM accreditation allows entering the global market of organic products.
