Ukraine: UFEB forecasted the growth of agricultural exports in 2016

The analytical department of the Ukrainian Food Export Board (UFEB) forecasted that in 2016 the general volumes of food exports from Ukraine will total nearly 15 bln USD in monetary terms, an increase of 13% compared with 2015 (14.2 bln USD), but down 8% compared with the result of 2014 (16.3 bln USD), declared the UFEB coordinator, Bogdan Shapoval on December 15.

In particular, in 2016 the regional structure of foreign supplies will be quite traditional - Asia (45%), Europe (34%), Africa (14%), and the CIS countries (7%) will become the main export destinations.

According to the announcement, during 11 months of 2016 Ukrainian producers exported agricultural products at the sum of 13.3 bln USD. According to calculations of the analytical department of UFEB, the earnings from the exports of finished food products including vegetable oils totaled 42% of the the general sum (5.6 bln USD), and excluding vegetable oils - 16% only (2.1 bln USD). The reporting figures did not demonstrate significant growth rates compared with the previous year results, which totaled 39% and 16%, respectively.

Also, grains formed the major part of Ukrainian food exports with a share of 41% (5.4 bln USD), as well as oilseeds with a share of 10% (1.3 bln USD). The exports of meat products totaled 3% (354 mln USD) from the general earnings in the reporting period, and dairy products - 1% of export revenues (144.8 mln USD).
