In 2016, the sea ports of Russia increased the shipment volumes of grains by 3.3% compared with the previous year - to 35.5 mln tonnes, announced the Association of Sea Commercial Ports of the Russian Federation.
The general cargo turnover in the Russian sea ports grew by 6.7% compared with 2015, and totaled 721.9 mln tonnes.
According to the announcement, the export cargo shipment reached 567.3 mln tonnes, up 5.3% compared with the same index in the previous year, imports – 31.7 mln tonnes (down 5%), transit – 51 mln tonnes (up 5.8%), coastal freight – 71.9 mln tonnes (up 27.4%).
