Kazakhstan exported record volumes of oilseeds and vegetable oils

According to the State revenue committee at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in December 2016 the export volumes of oilseeds from the country totaled 103.6 thsd tonnes, an increase of 45% compared with the same month in the previous year.

In particular, in the reporting month foreign shipment of sunflower seed and flaxseed mainly provided the growth of the general indicator. In December 2016, the export volumes broke records for 10 recent seasons, and reached 33.4 thsd tonnes (up 30% compared with December 2015) and 57.5 thsd tonnes (up 38%), respectively.

Generally, during 4 months of the current season (September-December) Kazakhstan exported 282.2 thsd tonnes of oilseed crops, up 27% compared with the same index in 2015/16 MY.

Also, Kazakhstan increased the export volumes of vegetable oils - in December 2016 the figures reached 8.4 thsd tonnes, up 1.8 times compared with December 2015, which became a historic maximum for the reporting month.

Generally, in September-December period of the current MY Kazakhstan supplied 22 thsd tonnes of vegetable oils on foreign markets (up 46% compared with the same index in the season-2015/16). In December 2016, sunflower and flaxseed oils formed the main share in the export growth structure - 3.1 thsd tonnes and 2.2 thsd tonnes respectively, which also broke new records.
