By 2020, Belarus plans to increase the exports of plant growing products to$ 500 mln USD, declared the Head of foreign economic activity department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, Alexei Bogdanov on February 16.
In 2016, the exports of plant products reached the level 380 mln USD, and in 2020 the country has to reach 500 mln USD. It is an ambitious and difficult task, but Belarus needs to diversify the sales market, deepen crop processing industry, and find new commodity items for exports, said A.Bogdanov.
In 2016, Belarus exported food products at the sum of 4.16 bln USD. The share of plant products totaled 9.1%.
