The limitations imposed by Turkey for the supply of Russian agricultural products, in particular grains, made Rusagrotrans analysts to revise the previous forecasts of the export volumes of Russia grains in March 2017, declared the Deputy Director of strategic marketing and corporate communications department at Rusagrotrans CJSC, Igor Pavensky on March 23.

Rusagrotrans lowered the forecast for March exports from the previous level of 3.9 mln tonnes to 3.5 mln tonnes, mainly due to the high risks of short delivery of grains to Turkey. Also, strengthening of RUR/USD exchange rates played its role.

In particular, the March exports of Russian wheat will total 2.5 mln tonnes, barley - nearly 200 thsd tonnes, corn - 750 thsd tonnes.

But despite the reporting decline of supplies, the general export volumes in March will still demonstrate a record level, and significantly exceed the same month last year (2.77 mln tonnes), I.Pavensky said.

Also, the analyst announced the forecast of grain export volumes in 2016/17 MY at the level of 36 mln tonnes, as opposed to 33.91 mln tonnes last season. In particular, wheat will total 27.6 mln tonnes, barley - 2.6 mln tonnes, and corn - 5.4 mln tonnes.
