As of April 24, Russian agrarians planted spring crops throughout the areas of 6.4 mln ha, or 12.2% of the forecast. In particular, the planted areas under spring grains totaled 3.7 mln ha (11.9%). But on the same date last year, the planted areas under spring crops totaled 8 mln ha, including spring grains - 4.8 mln ha, declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
As of the reporting date, the planted areas under spring wheat reached 427.2 thsd ha, or 3.1% of the forecast (in 2016 - 578.2 thsd ha). Spring barley areas totaled 1.8 mln ha, or 22.9% of the forecast (in 2016 - 2.4 mln ha). Corn for grain areas totaled 793.6 thsd ha, or 25.9% (in 2016 - 963.3 thsd ha), and rice - 1.3 thsd ha, or 0.6% (in 2016 - 0.3 thsd ha).
Also, agrarians planted sunflower seed throughout 997.5 thsd ha, or 13.9% (last year - 1.2 mln ha), spring rapeseed - 47 thsd ha, or 5.3% (in 2016 - 50 thsd ha), and soybeans - 52.2 thsd ha, or 2.3% (in 2016 - 75 thsd ha).
At the same time, Russia provided additional fertilizing of winter crop areas. As of April 24, agrarians realized the field works throughout 11.4 mln ha (65.4% of the planted areas).
