Ukraine: in the first quarter of 2017, Nika-Tera increased shipment of grain cargoes

In the first quarter of 2017, the sea terminal Nika-Tera (Sea Special Port Nika-Tera LLC, Mykolaiv, part of Group DF) increased transshipment of cargoes by 81% compared with the same period last year, from 674 thsd tonnes to 1.224 mln tonnes, declared the press-service of the company on April 26.

In particular, Nika-Tera increased transshipment of grains by 166%, and bulk cargoes - up 37%, while the shipment volumes of mineral fertilizers reduced by 31%.

Also, the port shipped 1.3 mln tonnes of export cargoes (up 108% compared with the first quarter of 2016), and 94 thsd tonnes of transit cargoes. In addition, in January-March period the port processed 70 bulk carriers.

First of all, the systemic and focused investment policy of Group DF contributed to the reporting growth of transshipment volumes. The port continues steadily developing and modernizing. In the first quarter of 2017, Nika-Tera managed significantly increasing cargoes handling rates by launching the second line of grain shipment, reported the port chief, Alim Agakishiev.
