In 2016/17 MY, Russia will lose its position of the global leader in wheat exports, while the USA will take the first position, informed the April report of FAS USDA.
In particular, the analysts reduced their estimations of Russian wheat export in the season by 1.5 mln tonnes compared with the previous month estimations, to 26.5 mln tonnes. According to the updated estimations, in the season-2016/17 Russia and the EU will take the second and third positions, giving up the leadership to the USA.
Also, FAS USDA experts reduced the export forecast of Russian barley and corn by 400 thsd tonnes and 200 thsd tonnes, to 3 mln tonnes and 5.1 mln tonnes, respectively.
