Southern regions of Russia started harvesting grain crops and pulses, reported the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on June 27.

According to the announcement, the adverse weather conditions of the spring planting campaign and the unstable weather in the beginning of the summer-2017 somewhat moved the realization of seasonal field works to later terms. Therefore, the field harvesting works began two weeks later compared with last year.

As of June 26, Russian agrarians harvested grain crops throughout the areas of 30.5 thsd ha (in 2016 - 258.8 thsd ha), and produced 117.9 thsd tonnes of grains, with the average yield of 3.87 t/ha (in 2016 - 1.1 mln tonnes, and 4.42 t/ha).

In particular, the Republic of Adygea harvested 1.8 thsd tonnes of grains throughout 0.3 thsd ha. The yield totaled 6 t/ha.

Krasnodar Krai harvested 45.4 thsd tonnes of grains throughout 7.2 thsd ha, with the average yield of 6.31 t/ha.

The Republic of Crimea harvested 65.4 thsd tonnes of grains throughout 20.7 thsd ha, with the average yield of 3.16 t/ha (in 2016 - 2.55 t/ha).

The Republic of Dagestan harvested 5.3 thsd tonnes of grains throughout 2.3 thsd ha, with the yield of 2.3 t/ha.

The Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts will begin the mass harvesting campaign of grains and pulses in the first-second ten-day period of July 2017, informed the Ministry.
