As of July 1, 2017, the carry-over stocks of grains in agricultural, harvesting and processing organizations of the Russian Federation totaled 15.352 mln tonnes, an increase of 1.65 mln tonnes (or up 12%) compared with the figures on the same date in 2016, reported the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat).

At the same time, the carry-over stocks of grains in agricultural organizations grew by 2.6%, or 157 thsd tonnes, compared with July 1, 2016 – to 6.171 mln tonnes. Harvesting and processing organizations increased the rate by 19.4%, or 1.493 mln tonnes - to 9.181 mln tonnes.

In particular, wheat formed the major share of the carry-over stocks in harvesting and processing organizations — 6.84 mln tonnes, up 17.9% compared with the same period last year, including 5.225 mln tonnes of milling wheat (up 17.7%).

Rye stocks totaled 320 thsd tonnes, up 17.6% compared with the indicator as of July 1, 2016, including 296 thsd tonnes of milling rye (up 15.7%). Also, barley stocks increased to 847 thsd tonnes (up 6.5%), corn - 907 thsd tonnes (up 46%), buckwheat - 52 thsd tonnes (up 2.1 times), oats - 82 thsd tonnes (up 36.1%), and millet - 24 thsd tonnes (up 96.3%). At the same time, rice stocks reduced to the level of 37 thsd tonnes (down 28.5%).
