In 2017, Russia will harvest nearly 110 mln tonnes of grain crops, declared the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Alexander Tkachev on August 22.

According to him, in coming days the Ministry will update the forecast of grain production, because the Volga and Siberian Districts just started the harvesting campaign.

Despite difficult weather conditions in the spring and summer of 2017, grain harvest volumes in the current year will completely meet the available needs in milling and feed grains. A.Tkachev specified the current situation on the Russian grain market as stable.

The Ministry does not expect for overstocking of the domestic market, because the global market will face a reduction of grain production, especially in the USA, Canada, and Europe, which will allow to Russia to increase grain exports in the season-2017/18 to 40 mln tonnes, he added.
