The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation plans to sell 1.5 mln tonnes of grains from the public intervention fund in 2017/18 MY, declared the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Igor Kuzin on October 10.

Taking into account the forecast that the fund will be able to sell 1.5 mln tonnes of grains, therefore the authorities would receive the required funds to support the agro-industrial complex, said the Deputy Minister.

Also, the intervention fund plans were to export 500 thsd tonnes of grains in 2017 to the countries where Russian exporters do not work yet.

As of January 1, 2017, the intervention fund stocked 4.036 mln tonnes of grains, including more than 86% of grains of the harvest in 2014-2016. In particular, the stocks of 3-grade wheat totaled 1.709 mln tonnes, and 4-grade wheat - 1.568 mln tonnes.
