In January-September of 2017, the seaports of Russia increased the shipment volumes of grains by 26.9% compared with the same period last year - to 31.1 mln tonnes, announced the Association of Sea Commercial Ports of the Russian Federation on October 11.

In particular, the ports increased mineral fertilizers transshipment by 7.2%, to 12.7 mln tonnes.

The general cargo turnover in the Russian seaports grew by 9% compared with the same period in 2016, and totaled 580.2 mln tonnes.

According to the announcement, the export cargo shipment reached 447.6 mln tonnes, up 6.4% compared with January-September of last year, imports – 26.7 mln tonnes (up 15.4%), transit – 42.8 mln tonnes (up 17.3%), and coastal freight – 62.9 mln tonnes (up 21.5%).
