In the period of 2006-2016, the general planted areas under agricultural crops in Russian enterprises and organizations of all forms of ownership increased by nearly 4.5 mln ha – from 74.86 mln ha, to 79.21 mln ha, according to the preliminary figures of the All-Russian agricultural census, published at the website of the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat).
At the same time, the figures in agricultural organizations decreased from 58.77 mln ha, to 54.62 mln ha. The same trend developed in private households of citizens and non-profit associations of citizens - from 2.8 mln ha, to 2.39 mln ha, and from 361 thsd ha, to 202 thsd ha, respectively.
Farming enterprises became the single category, which demonstrated the growth of crops planted areas from 12.93 mln ha in 2006, to 22 mln ha in 2016.
Also, the structure of crops planted areas changed. For 10 years, the share of grains and pulses in agricultural organizations decreased from 78.6% to 67.8%, while in farming enterprises it increased from 20.6% to 30.2%.
