In 2016/17 MY, Moldova purchased only 8% of the foreign supplies of Ukrainian flour, which became the minimum figures for five recent seasons, mainly due to increasing of the general export volumes of the product from Ukraine, declared the Director of the Union "Millers of Ukraine", Head of Business project unit at APK-Inform Agency, Rodion Rybchinskiy during his report within frames of the Agro-logistics forum "Dnieper-Danube-Black Sea" on October 18 in Chisinau, Moldova.

At the same time, the expert noted that in absolute terms the volumes of flour supplies to Moldova remained relatively stable, and the annual figures totaled nearly 33.7 thsd tonnes.

But if in 2012/13 MY Moldova imported 49.6 thsd tonnes of Ukrainian flour, which totaled 25% of the general supplies (199 thsd tonnes), then in 2016/17 MY the imports reached 33.2 thsd tonnes, which totaled 8% only of the record supplies at 402 thsd tonnes. Thus, Moldova still remains a stable partner of Ukrainian flour millers, but does not increase its purchasing volumes of the products, R.Rybchinskiy said.
