As of May 13, Kazakhstan planted spring spiked grains throughout the areas of 713.4 thsd ha, or 5% of the planned figures (14.347 mln ha), an increase of 1.2% compared with the same date last season, declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In particular, agrarians of Almaty oblast already planted grains throughout the largest areas — 204.6 thsd ha (57.6% of the plan), as well as Jambyl oblast — 191.5 thsd ha (103.6%), and East Kazakhstan oblast — 111.3 thsd ha (19.9%).

In addition, Kazakhstan started planting corn for grain. As of May 13, the planted areas reached 43.8 thsd ha, or 29% of the plan.

As for oilseeds, agrarians planted the crops throughout 356.7 thsd ha, or 12.5% of the plan (2.848 mln ha).
