The Government of Russia did not consider offers of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on formation of the new formula for calculation of the customs duty on wheat exports, declared Mikhail Stolbov, Deputy Director of the Department on regulation of the agro-industrial market, food and processing industries at the Ministry of Agriculture, on June 4.
According to him, it turned out that the discussed decisions were taken without considering the opinion of experts, and ignoring the opinion of the Ministry of Agriculture. Such decision was quite unexpected for the Ministry. The calculation formula was developed in the Ministry, but there were quite different indices. So, the planned duties mechanism is certainly harmful, and the decision should be changed, said the official.
M.Stolbov added that the adopted mechanism for calculating of the export duties has to be changed, and the Ministry is ready to head such works.
