On November 26, the press spokesman for the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov confirmed the current absence of any plans to impose the import ban on Turkish food products.
At the same time, he stressed that in terms of increasing of hazard of development of various extremist acts, the Russian authorities take additional control regulations. Also, he added that Russia expects for maintaining of the freedom of navigation through the straits Bosphorus and Dardanelles.
As a reminder, the international law and the 1936 Montreux Convention Regarding the Regime of the Turkish Straits regulates the rules of maritime navigation through the reporting straits.
