Russia will manage to restore grain shipment volumes to Turkey to its previous level in nearly 1-1.5 months, declared the President at the Russian Grain Union (RGU), Arkadiy Zlochevskiy on May 10.

According to him, to date traders provide formation of the required shipment volumes only, which will not become completed in the nearest days. The first contracts will be performed in 1-1.5 months, said A.Zlochevskiy.

Also, he explained that Russian exporters started looking for new sales markets not only due to the trade limitations imposed by Turkey on March 15, but also due to some domestic factors.

The domestic market accumulated significant volumes of carry-over stocks, which should be sold, explained A.Zlochevskiy. At the same time, during the period of the import customs duties in Turkey, the supplies of Russian grains to the country formed nearly 50% of the traditional volumes in the reporting period.

During 1.5 months, the export volumes totaled nearly 150-200 thsd tonnes, added the expert.
