The soybean market in Russia can be called as the most dynamically developing one. During several recent years, there were observe the stable growing indices of the oilseed production. Thus, in the 2000 soybean harvest totaled 342 thsd tonnes only, in 2007 - 650 thsd tonnes, but in 2012 the country harvested the record volumes of 1.8 mln tonnes. It should be noted that during the recent 6 years the production of the oilseed increased annually.
While speaking about the main soybean growing regions in Russia, it should be noted that the oilseed planted areas are mainly located in the Far Eastern Federal District (in 2012 - 64% of the general soybean areas in the Russian Federation). Also, soybean areas are concentrated in the Central and Southern Federal Districts, where last year the oilseed shares totaled 15% and 14% of the general planted areas, respectively.
