During recent years Russia continues increasing its interest in the production of pulses, which is witnessed by the annual growth of planted areas under the crops. So, during 5 years the planted areas of pulses in the country increased from the level of 1 mln ha in 2008 to 1.8 mln ha in 2012. In 2013 the planted areas of pulses in Russia increased to the record index - 2 02 mln ha. Also, the share of pulses in the general planted areas of grain crops in Russia increased from the level of 2.2% in 2008 to 4.4% in 2013.
