Key importers buy Ukrainian grain and oilseeds in the first half of the season




Analysis of major grains and oilseeds supplies from Ukraine in key importing countries shows that the main purchases is formed in the first half of the season. Thus, in 2014, 56% of wheat, purchased by three key importers, were delivered in the period from August to October. Saudi Arabia, being practically a monopoly buyer of Ukrainian barley, has formed 77% of its purchases in July-September 2014. TOP-3-importers have formed 97% of the purchased batches of rapessed in July-December. Such irregular supplies during the season leads to the peak loads on export infrastructure and reduce its effectiveness.
