According to the estimations of APK-Inform analysts, in the current year Kazakhstan will harvest the minimum volumes of wheat for 7 recent seasons — 11.3 mln tonnes. Therefore, decreasing of the harvest volumes of grains in Kazakhstan will respectively affect the export potential.

In particular, in 2019/20 MY the foreign shipments of wheat from Kazakhstan will reach the minimum level for 9 recent seasons — 3.3 mln tonnes (down 46%, compared with 2018/19 MY). As for barley, the exports will total 1.7 mln tonnes (down 6.6%).

In the beginning of the season, Kazakh wheat demonstrated much lower export rates compared with last season. Thus, in July-August period the shipment volumes totaled 621 thsd tonnes, down one third compared with the same period in 2018/19 MY. The trend developed, due to the insufficient supply of raw materials on the market in terms of the prolonged harvesting campaign, which had its impact on formation of the export batches of wheat, reported APK-Inform analysts.

Also, in September 2019 the grain supplies totaled nearly 300 thsd tonnes (down 25% y-o-y).
