According to APK-Inform figures, in July-December of 2019/20 MY Ukraine shipped nearly 7.5 thsd tonnes of oats on foreign markets, an increase of 45% compared with the volumes exported in the first half of the season-2018/19 (5.2 thsd tonnes), and up 5% compared with the same period of 2017/18 MY. Moreover, for six months of the current season the exported volumes already exceeded the general exports for the whole 2018/19 MY (7.4 thsd tonnes) by 1%.
In terms of the significant increase in export figures, oats production in Ukraine still demonstrated rather stable results. According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, in 2019 the production of oats in Ukraine totaled 422 thsd tonnes, up 0.8% only compared with 2018 (418 thsd tonnes).
APK-Inform analysts estimated the export potential of the oats market in the current MY at the level of 9 thsd tonnes, up 21.2% compared with the figures of 2018/19 MY (7.4 thsd tonnes).
