According to APK-Inform analysts, in 2019/20 MY the harvest of rye in Russia totaled nearly 1.53 mln tonnes, which became the minimum figures for 10 recent years, and reduced by 20% compared with last season.

Despite the significant reduction of rye production in the Russian Federation, in the current season the country increased the production rates of rye flour. According to the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), in the first half of 2019/20 MY the production volumes in Russia increased by 3% compared with the same period last season, and totaled 339.4 thsd tonnes. The major production capacities are located in the Central and Volga Federal Districts, which jointly covered 62% of the production of rye flour for the reporting period. At the same time, in the Central District there was observed 10% increase compared with the last year figures (to 104.8 thsd tonnes), while in the Volga District the production decreased by 12% (to 105.6 thsd tonnes).

According to APK-Inform estimations, in 2019/20 MY the production of rye flour in Russia will reach 660-670 thsd tonnes, up 5% compared with the last season results.
