Export of Ukrainian oilseeds and by-products up 1.6 times in October

According to the monitoring of APK-Inform, in the period of October 1-31, 2020, the export volumes of oilseeds and by-products from the Ukrainian seaports reached 1.56 mln tonnes, an increase of 1.6 times compared with the previous month volumes (0.99 mln tonnes, taking into account the updated figures).

The shipment volumes of sunflower seed and by-products formed the major share in the structure of supplies and totaled 955 thsd tonnes, including 493 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil (up 1.9 times), 392 thsd tonnes of sunflower meal (up 4.2 times) and 70 thsd tonnes of sunflower seed (up 14 times).

Export of soybean and by-products totaled 315 thsd tonnes, including 308 thsd tonnes of soybean (up 5.7 times) and 8 thsd tonnes of soybean meal (up 5.6%). There was no export of soybean oil.

Export of rapeseed and by-products reached 289 thsd tonnes, including 284 thsd tonnes of rapeseed (down 2 times) and 5 thsd tonnes of rapeseed meal (no export in September).

China (235 thsd tonnes), the Netherlands (198 thsd tonnes) and Turkey (194 thsd tonnes) were the main destination for Ukrainian oilseeds and by-products in October.

In 2020/21 MY, the Mykolaiv Sea Commercial Port (1.02 mln tonnes) was the leader in the exports of major grain crops. The Chornomorsk Commercial Sea Port (677 thsd tonnes) and Odessa Commercial Sea Port (340 thsd tonnes) took the second and third positions respectively.
