Production of crude sunflower oil may amount to more than 375 thsd tonnes in Kazakhstan in 2022/23 MY (+39% to 2021/22 MY), chairman of National Oilseed Processors Association Yadykar Ibragimov said on September 15 during the international agro-industrial Asia Grains&Oils Conference in Tashkent-2022.

According to him, the production of sunflower oil increased by 41% in 2021/22 MY to more than 270 thsd tonnes compared to 191 thsd tonnes in 2020/21 MY.

"This happened as large companies had entered the Kazakh market. They have the funds to purchase large volumes of sunflower seed. They concluded futures contracts with farmers. This allowed to allocate more than 37 bln tenge for spring field work this season. In any case, we will have sufficient volume of raw materials and we will produce more oil accordingly", – Y. Ibragimov explained.

NOPA is an exclusive partner of Asia Grains&Oils Conference in Tashkent-2022.
