Russia harvested more than 112 mln tonnes – Ministry of Agriculture

As of September 6, 2023, grain harvest in Russia totaled 112 mln tonnes. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitriy Patrushev, TASS reported. 

According to the Ministry of Agriculture forecasts, total grain production in Russia will generally exceed the average multi-year indicators.

The planting of winter crops is actively underway. It is assumed that in 2023 the area under winter crops will reach 20 mln ha.

Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia forecasted that in 2023 in the Russian Federation, the grain harvest will amount to 123 mln tonnes, including 78 mln tonnes of wheat. At the same time, the forecast may be revised upwards.

In 2022, Russia broke the total grain harvest record, reaching 157.676 mln tonnes (+29.9% y-o-y), including 104.237 mln tonnes of wheat (+37%).
