Kazakhstan accelerates refined sunflower oil production

For two months of the season-2023/24, Kazakhstan has increased oil production. As reported by the National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA) to APK-Inform, in September-October 2022, Kazakh oil refineries produced over 25.000 tonnes of refined sunflower oil, marking a substantial 21% increase y-o-y.

Also, during the specified period, processing enterprises produced about 70,000 tons of unrefined sunflower oil, with an increase of 15%.

The total production volume of all vegetable oils in Kazakhstan surpassed 82 thsd tonnes for two months, which is 2.8 thsd tonnes y-o-y.

NOPA expects further growth in the production of refined sunflower oil.

"Currently, the development of deep processing is a priority task facing the Association. During 2023-2024, we plan to increase our sunflower oil refining capacity by 106.000 tonnes, and by 2025, increase the production capacity to 600.000 tonnes of refined oil per year. This will contribute to meeting the needs of the domestic market, as well as export with more expensive products," said NOPA to APK-Inform.

Representatives of the National Oilseed Processors Association will talk about the development prospects of Kazakhstan's fat and oil industry, production, export, challenges and opportunities at the international conference Asia Grains&Oils Conference: Results of 2023, which will be held on December 5 in Almaty.

NOPA Chairman Yadykar Ibragimov will moderate the session on the oilseed market, and NOPA Executive Director for Strategic Development Andrey Antonov will be the speaker.

The detailed agenda of the conference is available on the APK-Inform website.
