Despite the crisis, Russia continues strengthening own positions on the world market of grains. Last grain season in Russia was characterized with the record indices of grain exports, which allowed to the country to take the third place among the world wheat exporters for the first time. During July-June of 2008/09 МY, the country exported 22.9 mln tonnes of Russian grains, including 17.9 mln tonnes of wheat, an increase of 54% compared to the index of 2007/08 МY. The volume broke the record of grain exports during recent nine seasons.
According to forecasts of analysts, in 2009/10 MY, the export potential of Russia will probably grow to 26-29 mln tonnes of grains, which will allow to the country to become the leader among the world exporters of the product.
The estimation of positions of Russian grains on the world market in the terms of the world market situation in 2009/10 MY will traditionally become the target topic of the regular conference "Grain of Russia -2009" (taking part on December 7-10, 2009, at Krasnaya Polyana area, Krasnodar Krai, Russia). Besides, the organizers will concentrate own attention on the issues of governmental regulation on both domestic and export markets, during the conference.
Taking into account working peculiarities of Russian grain market during recent seasons, logistics features and development of transport infrastructure of the grain market of the Russian Federation will become one of the target themes of the conference. The conference will provide the wide range of issues, including all elements of logistics chain: railway traffic activity, existing port infrastructure, influence of the situation on the world market of freight on the market of grains, optimization of grain transporting, new logistic routes for exports of Russian grains and etc. The growth of efficiency of logistics processes in the terms of the "low" market provides the most appreciable competitive advantages to traders and exporters.
According to organizers of the conference – Russian Grain Union and АPК-Inform Agency, the future functioning of the grain pool of the countries of the Black Sea region still attracts the attention of grain market participants. The conference will include the open discussion at the theme "Grain pool of the countries of the Black Sea region: advantages and risks", which will become the continuation of the discussion, launched during the World grain forum in Saint-Petersburg. Representatives of the Ministries of Agriculture of Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan will be the speakers of the discussion.
