European Investment Bank to invest in the agricultural sector of Ukraine, despite the political risks

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is ready to take political risks of providing investments to Ukraine, and appeals to foreign investors to contact the Bank for advice and financial assistance in the issue, declared Heinz Olbers, Director for Eastern Neighbours and Central Asia Department at the EIB, on April 28.

According to him, the Bank covers the investment provision to the whole agricultural sector, and the Bank will take all political risks of such investments for international investors.

Also, H.Olbers added that the EIB shows an excellent model of successful investments in the Ukrainian agricultural sector, including financing of such holding companies as Astarta and Mironivsky Hliboproduct.

As a reminder, in 2014 the EIB provided loans to Ukraine at the general sum of 940 mln EUR, and will increase the sum to 3 bln EUR until the end of 2016.
