Russia: Louis Dreyfus Commodities acquired the grain terminal in Rostov oblast

One of the world's largest traders - Louis Dreyfus Commodities - announced on purchasing of the grain terminal under construction, previously owned by Leader-Yug LLC in Azovsky raion of Rostov oblast of the Russian Federation, informed the press-service of the company.

Currently, the terminal includes 6 silos and 2 berths, which allows shipping nearly 600 thsd tonnes of grains per year. In the first stage the initial annual export capacity will total nearly 0.5 mln tonnes, aiming to exceed 1 mln tonnes over time.

"This new acquisition is fully in line with our regional investment strategy, which will help us serve our global customers more efficiently through additional export capacity,” said Cesar Soares, Regional Head of Grains for Europe and Black Sea at Louis Dreyfus Commodities. “It is also an important first step towards developing new alternatives in logistics, considering that small port flows account for a big part of total grain export volumes in Russia.”
