Azerbaijan Investment Company to acquire 25% of shares of the logistics center in Aktau

OJSC Azerbaijan Investment Company will purchase 25% of shares of the logistics center, built in Aktau (Western Kazakhstan) by the Azerbaijani company Azersun Holding, declared the Minister of Economy and Industry of Azerbaijan, Shahin Mustafayev on November 20.

According to him, construction of the logistics center in Aktau has been already completed, and in December its starts receiving foodstuffs and agricultural products for storage. The new logistics center will allow to Azerbaijani entrepreneurs to expand the export capacities and distribute their products to other countries.

Foundation of the logistics center in Aktau will simplify the access of Azerbaijani exporters to markets of the Customs Union, said the Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, Shahin Bagirov.

To date, the State Customs Committee continues working on simplification of the customs procedures for exports of agricultural products. Also, the Committee continues developing the system of electronic payment for customs duties, customs documentation sync with the international one, harmonization of the documents to a single form in terms of multimodal transportation, said S.Bagirov.

In turn, the head of Azersun Holding, Abdolbari Guzel stressed that the logistics center will cover the funds invested in its construction for 10 years.

At the first stage, the allocated funds for construction reached 20 mln USD, but the investment volumes may even increase. The holding will regulate the logistics center operations, and distribution of its cargo lots.
