Kernel to sell its last Russian asset

The Ukrainian holding Kernel plans to sell its last asset in Russia - 50% shares in the grain terminal Taman, informed market sources.

It is specified that the company Glencore which owns the second half of the terminal, is the most likely buyer. At the same time, representatives of Glencore and Kernel refused to give official comments on the situation.

According to sources, Deutsche Bank is the sales consultant for the share of Kernel. Market experts estimated the share of Kernel in the terminal at the sum of 70-150 mln USD.

As a reminder, Kernel and Glencore purchased the terminal in 2012 from Efko Group on a parity basis for 265 mln USD. The terminal includes several elevators with the general storage capacities at 80 thsd tonnes and potential for expansion to 220 thsd tonnes. The transshipment capacities total 3.6 mln tonnes of grains per year.
