Lithuanian investors are interested in investing in development of the Ukrainian port infrastructure, as well as the river logistics, declared the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Yuriy Lavrenyuk during a meeting with the Ambassador of Lithuania in Ukraine, Marius Janukonis.

In particular, representatives of the Lithuanian party were highly interested in development of the Baltic-Black Sea transport corridor, and cooperation with the Ukrainian sea ports, especially with Kherson Sea Trading Port. According to M.Janukonis, Kherson Sea Trading Port would become a pilot project, where it would be useful to apply the Lithuanian experience and expert appraisal.

For his part, Y.Lavrenyuk stressed that the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine was preparing the Kherson port for a long-term renting as a whole entity, and further concession providing.

The Ministry of Infrastructure is gradually budging from the old model of privatization or renting of large-scale areas by piece, and moves to the public-private partnership and concession model.
