According to Oil World, the competitiveness of sunflower oil increased on the global market amid surge of the prices of soybean and palm oils.
As of February 17, the price of Black Sea sunflower oil totaled 1440 USD/t (March contracts), down 130-140 USD/t compared to Argentinian soybean oil, down 100 USD/t compared to Malaysian palm olein and down 85-90 USD/t compared to Indonesian crude palm oil.
Oil World forecast the global sunflower oil production to rise by 3 mln tonnes. India may show good demand for sunflower oil in January-April and import about 1-1.1 mln tonnes of the oil compared to 0.64 mln tonnes booked over the same period of 2021.
