In July, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan forecast the grain harvest in the country at 17.3 mln tonnes, and then in August, the projection was raised to 18.3 mln tonnes, Chairman of KazGrain (National Association of Exporters) Zeynolla Abdumanapov said on September 14 speaking at the international agro-industrial Asia Grains&Oils Conference in Tashkent-2022.

According to him, the wheat production may amount to 13.5 mln tonnes in 2022.

"Kazakhstan needs about 5-6 mln tonnes of grain annually to meet the domestic needs. The rest of the volume can be exported to the countries of Central Asia and other states", – the expert said.

According to Z. Abdumanapov, due to the geopolitical situation in the world and the reduction of grain production in a number of countries, the demand for Kazakh grain is increasing many times. In addition to traditional sales markets like Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Iran, Kazakhstan can increase its grain exports to China, the European Union via the Trans-Caspian route, and the countries of the Middle East.

"I would like to note that the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan recently has made an official visit to Saudi Arabia, where great interest was shown in investing in Kazakhstan and importing our grain to the countries of the Middle East", – the Chairman of KazGrain added.

KazGrain National Association of Exporters is as a partner of the grain session of Asia Grains&Oils Conference in Tashkent-2022.
