In November 2019, Uzbekistan purchased almost 210 thsd tonnes of wheat from Kazakhstan, and continued keeping the leading position in the TOP of countries-importers of the Kazakh grain. The figures became slightly lower compared with the volumes purchased by Uzbekistan in the previous month (226 thsd tonnes), reported the Customs Control Committee at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
For 5 months of the season-2019/20, Kazakhstan shipped almost 940 thsd tonnes of wheat to the country, up 11% compared with the previous year figures.
As a reminder, according to the IGC forecasts, in 2019/20 MY wheat imports to Uzbekistan will keep at the high level, and reach nearly 2.9 mln tonnes, which corresponds to the last season volumes.
