The Uzbek authorities plan to gradually cancel the enormous control of the cottonseed and wheat market in the country, and open the market segment for private companies, reported the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
In particular, to date the government purchases cottonseed and wheat from agrarians, and regulates how much agrarians should produce agricultural raw materials, and also ships the products on foreign markets on independent basis. However, the President stressed that such strategy should change in the nearest future, in order to attract private investments in the country.
As a reminder, Uzbekistan is one of the TOP-10 of countries-exporters of cottonseed.
