As of October 21, Ukrainian farmers harvested grains and pulses throughout 7.4 mln ha or 67% of the planned area. Production volume reached 29 mln tonnes, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy informed.
Currently, they are harvesting late crops:
- 528 thsd ha of corn for grain (12%; 2.7 mln tonnes, 5.07 t/ha);
- 104 thsd ha of buckwheat (88%; 141 thsd tonnes, 1.39 t/ha);
- 42 thsd ha of millet (93%; 97 thsd tonnes, 2.33 t/ha).
Moreover, farmers harvested 3.2 mln ha of sunflower seed area (68%). Production volume reached 7 mln tonnes with the yield of 2.19 t/ha. Agrarians reaped 798 thsd ha of soybean. Production volume reached 1.9 mln tonnes of with the yield of 2.36 t/ha.
Farmers harvested 4.2 mln tonnes of sugar beet with the yield of 47.8 t/ha reaped from 89 thsd ha (49%).
