Due to the favorable weather conditions for corn production in Ukraine, the experts of USDA are optimistic about the yield and crop size of corn in Ukraine in 2021/22 MY, declared Agricultural Specialist at USDA, Denys Sobolev within the conference «CROP 2021. NEW CROP — NEW CHALLENGES».

“We expect the production of corn to exceed 37 mln tonnes in Ukraine next season. The export of the grain will amount to 30.5 mln tonnes. However, I have to point put lower than expected feed corn consumption in 2020/21 MY. Now, the prices of corn are still higher than the prices of milling wheat”, - he said.

It can lead to accumulation of high carry-over stocks of corn in Ukraine by the end of the current season. This fact together with coming higher production will pressure the prices.

“Therefore, the export of Ukrainian corn can surpass the current estimations of USDA in 2021/22 MY”,- the expert supposed.
