In 2020, the overall harvested area under wheat for seed totaled 40 thsd ha in Ukraine, down from 55 thsd ha in 2019. It was stated in the Register of seeds certificate and/or planting material.
The area under winter wheat for seed totaled 38.13 thsd ha in 2020 (52.7 thsd ha in 2019), including 38.1 thsd ha under soft wheat (52.4 thsd ha).
The area under spring wheat for seed remained stable at 1.7 thsd ha.
The area under triticale for seed declined to 223 ha (335 ha), including 202 ha (287 ha) under winter triticale.
The area under barley for seed decreased by more than 1.8 times to 12.5 thsd ha in 2020, including 5.1 thsd ha under winter barley for seed (9.5 thsd ha) and 7.4 thsd ha under spring barley for seed (13.6 thsd ha).
