In September-January 2021/22 MY Kazakhstan exported about 34 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil, down 21% y/y, declared Konstantin Nevzorov, President of Kazakhstan Oil and Fat Union within Asia Grains&Oils Conference 2022 on April 7.
“The market is more consolidated this season. Uzbekistan and Tajikistan accounted for 98% of the whole volume exported. Their share was 71% over the same period of the last season. Lower shipments to Uzbekistan were offset by stronger demand from Tajikistan”, – he said.
At the same time, China decreased import of Kazakh sunflower oil by 97% y/y.
K. Nevzorov also noted some demand from Afghanistan, Russian and Kyrgyzstan.
“Volumes are small, but we see the interest as well as from Turkey and Europe”, – he added.
