In 2011, the gross agricultural production in Ukraine totaled 118.1 bln UAH, including 75.2 bln UAH for crop production, informed Sergei Kvasha, Director of the department of agrarian markets development of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, at the conference "AgroResurcy - 2012" in Kiev.
According to him, in 2011 the general production of grains and leguminous crop totaled 56.7 mln tonnes (144.3% compared to results of 2010). Wheat production volumes formed 22.3 mln tonnes of the general volumes (132.4%), barley - 9.1 mln tonnes (107.2%), maize - 22.8 mln tonnes.
According to S.Kvasha, in 2011 due to the market development, the state budget received the increased share of proceeds from agricultural enterprises - up to 40.1 bln UAH.
The official said that in 2011 the level of profitability in crop production totaled 29.9% against 31.5% in 2010. The profitability declined due to increased costs for purchasing of material and technical resources.
According S.Kvasha, the average prime cost of grains in 2011 inUkrainetotaled 1393 UAH/t, sunflower - 2051 UAH/t.
Analyzing the indices of prime costs, he noted thatUkraineis losing competitiveness in agricultural crops production due to increasing of costs for purchasing of material and technical resources.
