The Ukrainian market of feed maize faced the increase of purchasing prices in some cases. However, the average increase totals nearly 50 UAH/t. At the same time, we should take into account that mainly grain processors correct own prices, which were previously recorded at the level close to the minimum one (1270-1320 UAH/t EXW), and the customers which have the need of urgent replenishment of own grain reserves.
In general, many domestic consumers keep the previously formed range of purchasing prices, noting that the number of feed maize offers on the market is quite sufficient for formation of the desired grain trading lots. Often agrarians continue actively selling maize volumes. However, we must note that the number of offers of wet grain in some cases exceeds the number of offers of processed maize grain. Thus, taking into account the costs for processing and storing of the grains, owners of dry maize make it impractical to sell the grain at the prices of consumers, which often vary within the range of 1300-1400 UAH/t in EXW terms. At the same time, some part of agrarians view the prices of not less than 1500 UAH/t (EXW) as more acceptable.
It is worth noting that, according to agrarians, in the current season maize became one of the most profitable agricultural crops. As a result, agricultural producers often prefer to sell maize in the first place, leaving the crops with unacceptable level of prices for further storing.
